TracID was founded in 2005 with the initiative of utilizing RFID technology within the oil and gas industry to successfully track the lifecycle of drill pipe for operators on the Norweigan Continental Shelf. Since commercialization in 2010, this tag has been installed and successfully deployed in over 40,000 drill string components. In March 2016 TracID was acquired by NOV Tuboscope. This technology combined with Tuboscope’s comprehensive package of products and services maximizes useful asset life and reduces total cost of ownership.
