Hardware Description

The Quadra series had been shipping for nearly two years when Apple released the Quadra 800, and introduced a new style of case that, while smaller than the massive Quadra 900, actually offered more front accessible drive bays (3 in total although one was taken up by the floppy drive). This wasn't the only advantage the machine had over its older, bigger sibling as it out-powered it due to its 33MHz processor (as opposed to the 900's 25MHz). By using interleaved memory, the 800 can even outperform the Quadra 950 (which shares the same CPU running at the same speed).
