Bio/Description

Co-founded Nestar Systems Inc., an early producer of networked client-server computer systems in 1979. In 1986, Dr. Shustek Co-founded Network General Corporation, a manufacturer of network analysis tools, notably ?The Sniffer.? and later it became Network Associates Inc. after merging with McAfee Associates and PGP. After graduation, Dr. Shustek was a Partner at VenCraft, a small ?angel financing? venture capital fund. He joined the faculty at Carnegie Mellon University as an Assistant Professor of Computer Science. He serves as Chairman of the board of trustees of The Computer History Museum. He also serves as Trustee of Polytechnic University. He served as Member of Technical Advisory Board of Tablus Inc. He teaches occasionally as a Consulting Professor at Stanford University. Dr. Shustek holds Master and Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science from Stanford University and Bachelor and Master of Science in Physics from Polytechnic University in Brooklyn, NY. Founder of the Computer History Museum of Mountain View, California.
