InputDynamics Ltd is a privately owned software company developing new ways for the user to engage with handheld devices by using acoustic and motion sensor processing techniques as an alternative to hardware solutions such as conventional touchscreens and buttons. The technology is applicable across a broad range of consumer products such as mobile phones and multi-media devices. IDL was founded in 2008 by technology experts with long experience in working with world's leading OEM and ODM mobile phone companies. InputDynamics' TouchTap software makes mobile handsets smarter by adding soft-key buttons anywhere on the casework without the need for new hardware. TouchTap utilizes InputDynamics' recognition algorithms (patents applied for) and existing hardware resources such as the on-board processor/s, the microphone and other sensors if available to enhance the input capabilities of a handset. Soft-key buttons can also overlay icons on the display screen area of a handset which has no touchscreen in order to emulate a touchscreen, the number of icons depending on the processor capabilities and memory available.
